Step One - Prepare Glove:
Place your new Thatlilshop glove under hot water. Turn off the hot water and squeeze the glove to release any excess water. You may notice that your glove may shrink slightly when rinsed for the first time. Place your glove in a safe place near the bathtub or shower for easy access.
Step Two - Soften Skin:
Take a hot and steamy bath or shower for at least five minutes to soften your skin. Avoid using any soaps, shampoo, or bubbles while you soften your skin as the glove relies on direct friction with your skin. Pro tip: the softer your skin is, the better the results!
Step Three - Prepare Body:
Turn off the hot water if you are taking a shower or drain the bathtub if you are taking a bath. Avoid drying yourself off and make sure that your skin remains moist.
Step Four - Use Glove:
Place your hand inside the moist glove. Begin to firmly (but not too firmly!) move the glove up and down and side to side across your body. Long and firm strokes work best, however feel free to experiment with pressure. For lymphatic flow benefits, stroke upwards towards your heart. Be extra gentle on your sensitive areas. You may notice your skin start to peel after a few minutes. If this happens, avoid rinsing the peeling skin off your body as these skin particles will aid in further exfoliation.
Step Five - Rinse:
Once you have achieved your desired levels of exfoliation, rinse your body with water and soap to wash away the skin particles. To finish off your exfoliating ritual, apply your favorite body oil or moisturizer.
Step Six - Wash Glove:
Hand wash your glove using natural soap and hang your glove to air dry. Repeat your exfoliating ritual weekly.
Step Seven - Most Importantly:
Enjoy your glowing new skin!
- Do you have extra tips and tricks on how to use my Thatlilshop exfoliating glove or towel?
Soak in a hot bath or stand in a hot shower for at least 5 minutes to soften the skin. I'm usually in the bathtub for at least 15 minutes. The softer the skin is, the better results!
Do not use any oils, salts, soap, shampoo, or creams while you are soaking in the tub or standing in the shower as our gloves depend on direct friction with the skin. Don't worry - you can wash your body and hair like you normally would once you're finished exfoliating!
Once your skin has been softened, wet your glove. Make sure to wring out any excess water from the glove.
Move yourself out of the water. This is one of the most important tips! You should turn off the shower water or physically remove yourself from the bathtub to ensure that your skin isn’t too wet. If the glove or your body is too wet, the glove won’t be able to make enough contact with the skin.
Start to gently scrub the driest areas of your body first. I usually start with my knees and feet, but other dry areas include the elbows and the back of the thighs.
Continue to scrub the skin using long and firm strokes. It can take up to one minute for the skin to start to build up and peel. Make sure not to rinse the peeling skin particles from your body or the glove, as these skin particles will help promote the rest of your skin to peel as well.
Slowly start to scrub other parts of your body, being extra gentle around sensitive skin.
Once you’ve achieved your desired level of exfoliation, take a shower or bath as you normally would (with soap and shampoo). Once finished, make sure to moisturize your skin within five minutes of drying off.
Only use our glove 1-2 times a week as our glove offers a very deep exfoliation. Avoid scrubbing skin that is inflamed or sunburned.
There is a chance that your skin may not peel, however you’re still deeply exfoliating your skin! Peeling mainly depends on your skin type, if you use body lotions often, and if you are already exfoliating your skin daily with another type of exfoliator. If you shave parts of your body frequently, you may not notice skin peeling. Dry skin also tends to peel more than oily skin.
- What makes Thatlilshop exfoliating gloves unique?
Thatlilshop exfoliating gloves are created using high quality natural plant fibers that are woven together using an ancient technique. The unique weave of the Thatlilshop exfoliating glove allows the fabric to catch the dead skin and dirt as you move the glove up and down your body while also stimulating blood circulation.
When you use your glove, you can see the dead skin and dirt visibly roll off the skin leaving you with extremely soft and clean skin. Thatlilshop exfoliating gloves are also reusable and do not harm the environment.

We would recommend using our very gentle Thatlilshop konjac face sponge on your face instead. Avoid any acne or open wounds as exfoliating these areas can result in the transfer of bacteria.
